It’s not ok that children are suffering at the hands of preventable diseases.
It’s not ok that wars and violent conflict displace families, forcing them to abandon their homes in hope of safety and refuge.
It’s not ok that young girls are forced into childhood marriage, robbing them of education and opportunity.
It’s not ok that lack of water and sanitation continue the generational cycle of poverty. It’s not ok for us to do nothing!
We're inspired by our Christian faith
Which is why we work tirelessly to end all forms of poverty all across the globe. We believe that we’re called to care for the marginalized, oppressed, overlooked and poor. Scripture is laced with instructions commanding us to care for those in poverty.
These are the verses that move us the most:
“He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free.”
“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
“If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.”
1 John 3:17-18
“Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”
“He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.”
“The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern.”
“He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing.”
